Gilly Tyler is a part-time Lecturer in Television & Screen Production at AUT. She also works in the freelance industry as a producer/director over a wide range of projects. In 1985, when the Rainbow Warrior was bombed at Marsden Wharf, Gilly was working at Television New Zealand and remembers the ongoing police and media investigations into the story of the French activists as a daily unfolding drama.

Hayley Becht is in her final year of the Bachelor of Communications Studies majoring in Television and Screen Production. Her passion for interviewing and producing has continued to develop over the years. She hopes to one day work within the documentary field (working on current affairs styled pieces) as either a producer or interviewer. She’s determined to help people by telling their stories while working towards a world where each and every individual’s voice is heard. She stresses the importance of learning about the past as this helps one understand the present.

Steph Griesel is a third year Communications student, majoring in Television and Screen Production at the Auckland University of Technology. He helped record a series of studio interviews with original Rainbow Warrior crew members for the Eyes of Fire anniversary project. He feels blessed to be a part of capturing a part of such an incredible piece of history.

Jannah Hibberd is a third year Communications student at AUT. She loves to hear peoples’ stories and really loves the process of television production. She thought that being part of this project would be a great chance to gain a better understanding of this memorable time in New Zealand’s history and to hear some pearls of wisdom.

Joshua Iosefo is 20 years old and is of Niuean and Samoan descent. Born and raised in South Auckland he has always been passionate about social justice, minority voices and youth empowerment. Outside of AUT Joshua works as a motivational speaker having spoken at TEDxCHCH, Campbell LIVE and the Ministry of Education to name a few. His dream is to be a respected film director. Joshua is humbled to be a part of the 30th anniversary for the Rainbow Warrior and is inspired by the stories of those involved.

Phoebe is currently studying in her final year at AUT Bachelor of Communications study majoring in television. She decided to become a part of the 30 years on project due to its significance in New Zealand's history. It is important for New Zealand to reflect and remember its past in order to respect its present. Phoebe hopes to uncover and revive stories of New Zealand's past and present after graduating.

Elina Osborne is a third year Communications student, who majors in Television and Screen Production. Elina believes that everyone has a story to tell. She hopes to work one day work in the Documentary field as she likes its ability to bring attention to stories that would otherwise be left untold. She was really interested in gaining real world experience by being a part of Rainbow Warrior: 30 years on. She has enjoyed hearing firsthand the experiences of those who were on board during the bombing, and their passion for inspiring activism.

Maria Pahi (Māori/Portuguese) is currently a third year Communications student at AUT University majoring in Television Screen and Production, with a minor in Digital Media. She believes that creative endeavors have the ability to harness new thoughts and ideas, and this innovation will help bring forward unparalleled levels of achievement.

Corey Larry Sio is young man currently in his final year of the communications degree majoring in film and television. Next year he will be continuing on to do his post graduate diploma. Corey has worked with organisations such as the Auckland City Council as part of a project team helping young people get work within council. Corey and a group of young people created a theatre show called "Struggle Street" that aimed to help people dealing with issues such as depression. He also works for AUT as an ambassador, a peer mentor and a PTP camp ambassador.

Onehou Strickland (Cook Island, Māori, Ngāti Awa) is a third year Communications student at AUT currently majoring in film and television. With a passion for literature, indigenous people, and the beautiful whenua of Aotearoa. The prospect of working on a project that resonates in the heart of New Zealand’s history was very exciting.

Hayley Wadmore is studying a Bachelor of Communications majoring in television and screen production. An avid history geek, she was stoked to meet people involved in such a key historical event. She hopes the project can raise more awareness of the riveting past of our wee nation.

Ariana Ward is a current undergraduate studying a conjoint Bachelor of Business and Communications degree, majoring in television and human resource management and minoring in journalism. Ariana has just completed two simultaneous internships at Kea New Zealand and Mediaworks and hopes to continue building her television work experience. Ariana also enjoys working as an actor on film sets as a pastime to develop her understanding of the industry. She aspires to work for TVNZ and the BBC in her future, and she feels that the film industry is a career-path that will be a life-long passion for her.

Joel Wilson is a third year TV and Screen Production student at AUT. He has been interested in film and television since a young age and is currently in the process of writing his first screenplay. He is passionate about telling stories and chose to participate in the Rainbow Warrior Anniversary commemorations to help share an important part of New Zealand history.
